There is a long line of Android phones to be released in 2014, but some phones have Android fans waiting in anticipation. With new developers coming to the Android market, it will be an interesting year to see what new devices will be the best sellers. The following are a few of the most enticing phones that have been announced thus far.
Archos 50 Helium
Archos is hoping to make a splash with two “Helium” phones coming out this year. The more impressive of the two being dubbed the “Archos 50 Helium.” This phone features a plethora of power and has a 5-inch display that users will either love or hate, depending on how compact users like their phones to be. The 50 Helium will include 8GB or memory, a rear and front camera – boasting 8MP and 2MP respectively – and a 1280 x 720 resolution. While this might not be the most powerful Android phone on the market, it is priced to be a budget option and will be more than affordable than others on the market.
Lenovo Vibe Z
Lenovo, the famed laptop creator, will be making a splash with the Vibe Z. This phone will be packed with Bluetooth, better wireless support and a quad-core processor that ensures that it will be lightning fast and able to run the most CPU intensive apps. Download speeds on the Vibe Z are what will blow users away and make this phone a must-have. Downloading speeds of up to 150Mbps and uploading speeds of 50Mbps will allow sharing to be a breeze. Downloading apps or streaming movies may be faster than on most personal computers. With 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, this phone will be able to push the Android OS to its limits.
Samsung Galaxy S5
The Samsung Galaxy S5 has been kept under wraps for most of the year, but new rumors are circulating that the new Galaxy will be in the public’s hands as early as February. As far as specs are concerned, there is little information about what the S5 will have, but rumors state that a metal frame may be used. This means that the lightweight feel of the Galaxy may be gone and impact the initial sales. Initial hardware specs are estimated to include 3GB or RAM, a 64-bit processor and a larger display than the S4. While these specs are all mere speculation at the moment, the Samsung Galaxy line of phones is always a safe bet and this should not change with their recent upgrade.
The Nexus brand of phones has seen new models released yearly. Will this change in 2014? No one knows for sure, but if history repeats itself, Google will be releasing the Nexus 6 sometime in 2014. What will the features and specifications be? No one knows for sure as Google does a very good job at keeping their products away from the public eye until they are ready for release. Increased specs are a definite as well as the latest Android OS.
